I would like to take the time to share with you some of the little things about the songs in this
album, Pure and Simple, that I remember from the past during the times in which these songs
were written and recorded. In doing so, I hope to give you more insight to our music, to see
things that perhaps would have been overlooked otherwise. We would like you to feel a part
of our Christian Music as much as possible. By the way, if your looking for a Christian CD
with Bible based lyrics, you have found it here! Each individual song is written with a passion
for God’s Word as it is quoted and sung from Scripture itself. Dominique’s love for Jesus
Christ comes through with each song she sings, as the Scripture filled song lyrics carry God’s
Word down deep in your heart and soul. Each Worship song on this album was written with
the intension of lifting-up the name of Jesus and getting out the Gospel Message, which is so
needed in our world today! I was very careful and particular about my choice of song lyrics
and how they were phrased. When making verses rhyme, I did not want to compromise
Biblical truths in the process. I believe because of God’s inspiration in creating this album, the
listener will be strengthened in his or her faith, not by anything we have done, but by the
work of the Holy Spirit working through the Word of God. We give all the glory, all the
honor, and all the credit to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

To begin, I will start with the song, Pure & Simple. Pure & Simple is a Contemporary
Christian Pop Song with funky beats and Latin Rhythms. The song lyrics were taken from
Bible verses, John 1:1, John 3:16, Psalm 100:1-3, and Psalm 103:12. Dominique shares the
Gospel Message very clearly using John 3:16, and shouts for joyfulness and praise to the
LORD, using Psalms 100 and 103. The song is filled with bells and guitar, aggressive bass
and drum beats with vocal harmonies. It was a challenge making the Bible verses flow
throughout the song, but Dominique did a wonderful job in doing so, as so many have
confirmed and enjoyed.

He’s The Love In My Life. This song was written on a beautiful day in December, 2002. I
remember looking out the window of my music studio, watching the sky as white puffy
clouds blew by. I recalled a time in my life many years before, when I was broken and felt
like there was no hope for tomorrow, that is, until Jesus came along and saved me from the
depths of despair. Read more about that
here. I was so moved with joy down deep in my
heart that day, that I found myself playing notes and chords on my piano to this song. The
song lyrics too, made their way on paper that same afternoon. Later that evening, Dominique
came by and I played the new song for her, she instantly fell in love with it! I could see her
heart was deeply moved as she pleaded with me to be the one to sing it. I’m glad she did,
because now I can’t imagine it done any other way!

Psalm 23, a psalm of David. This Psalm has been the comforter of psalms throughout the
ages. My strong desire was to create Dominique’s version with song lyrics exactly as it reads
from the Bible. It was definitely a challenge for both writing the song, as well as singing it.
However, it was worth the effort, because Dominique’s version of Psalm 23 is not only
inspiring, but also helps a person memorize the words of the psalm as they listen. This is
always my intent as I write Christian Music, I believe Gospel song lyrics should be more
from God’s Word rather than my own. The music in this song is very unique too, many
people have shared how much they enjoy the middle-eastern flavor when the song changes
key mid way through.

Fear The LORD. This Christian Pop song was built from Proverbs 1:17. The fear of the
LORD is the beginning of wisdom, knowledge and truth! It tells of the importance of coming
to the LORD, to fear Him above all things, which is how a person gains true wisdom! The
world’s wisdom is foolishness in God’s eyes, and those who fear God in Jesus Christ, are the
wisest of all. The song lyrics also invite anyone who is lost, feeling lonely, without hope, to
come to the LORD, for He cares for you and longs to be your friend, your Savior! For those
who know Jesus as their Savior, this Gospel song is a great reminder for how we all need to
evangelize and share the Gospel message with those around us who don’t know Jesus! This
song is very motivating and fun to listen to with it’s up-beat music rhythms, drum sounds and
vocal harmonies!

Praise You (Psalm 9); is a beautiful song taken from Psalm 9 which gives due praise to God
Most High, as Dominique sings so passionately! The chorus parts sing the words of Jesus
Christ from Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.” This Bible verse is
quoted often as an invitation to come to Christ for salvation and forgiveness of sins. Once
again, a great reminder of the importance to share the Gospel message with as many as we
can. Midway through the song there is a beautiful strings and piano keyboard solo, along with
4 part vocal harmonies throughout.

Living Water; is one that will always bring back special memories for me. In April of 2002, I
remember writing this song about Jesus and the Samaritan woman at Jacobs well, from Bible
verses John 4:1-42. The song lyrics include, “A woman came to draw water from the well,
she didn’t know Jesus.” When God put those song lyrics on my heart, they touched me very
deeply, and gave me great motivation to continue writing the song. One summer afternoon,
Dominique and her dear friend, Leanne Johnston, came to my studio to hear my new song
and record the vocals. As Dominique began singing, we were all so moved, because we could
feel God’s presence among us in a powerful way! Leanne, bless her heart, prayed as
Dominique sang the song, and the room was filled with God’s anointing as He blessed
Dominique’s recording. The song turned out more beautiful than I had imagined. Dominique
was able to reach all the high notes and improvised the song lyrics like I had never seen
before. We all knew in our hearts that day God had blessed our Living Water song in a
powerful way!!

I Will Sing To The Lord! Is a fun Christian Pop song based on Bible verses from Psalms 13:
6, 98:8 and Isaiah 55:12. The song lyrics include, “Sing a new song unto the Lord my Savior,
sing a new song and rejoice!” The funky drum beats and keyboard synthesizers make it fun
to listen to, along with the answer-backs from the dubbed in vocal harmonies by Dominique.
All throughout the Bible God tells us to sing a new song to Him, and this one is indeed, a new
song unto the LORD!

Think About Forever; is a Christian song that prompts us to think about our eternity in
Heaven with God, rather than the things of this world, which only perish in a short time. This
song is written with a Reggae beat, based on Bible verses, 1 Corinthians 2:9 and John 14:2-3.
The song lyrics encourage us to persevere and press on towards our Heavenly Home, which
Jesus has waiting for those who believe in Him. Jesus said, “In My Father's house are many
mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I
go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am,
there you may be also.” John 14:2-3 NKJV Surly, we can all find comfort in those words. If
you are uncertain about your eternity, and would like to learn more about the forgiveness of
sins in Christ, see our web page
here, you will be glad you did.

Rejoice! Is a Techno Style Christian Praise song with electronic synthesized sounds made
from my, Korg, Triton Lee, keyboard. I believe the electronic dance music styles today, with
their fast drum beats and synthetic sounds, can also be fun in Christian music as well.
Dominique sings, “Let all those who trust in the Lord, Rejoice and Praise His Holy Name!”
People always like a good beat, and this Praise song is no exception! There are a lot of 4 part
harmonies in this song, pushed along with a bass drum beat of 140 bpm. Often Techno style
music is referred to as Trance as well. I enjoy listening to it for the beat, more important than
the beat however, is having good solid Christian Bible based lyrics!

Our Emotions Don’t Promise Salvation; is a Christian song that tells the story of a person
who once lived in darkness, like a sheep that had gone astray, until one day Jesus saved that
person. At first, the new born Christian was filled with inexpressible joy. Later on however,
the person’s emotions were not as high as they were before after being saved. Concerned and
alarmed, the person believes that God had left them for some unknown reason, or that God
was unhappy with them! I know many new Christians can experience this same scenario,
they feel that if their emotions and spiritual highs come down, God abandoned them, and
they become very frightened and discouraged. I remember the same thing happened to me
when I was first saved. That’s why I wrote this song, it’s not about our feelings, it’s about
what Jesus did for us on the cross at Calvary. God promised He would never leave or
forsake us. It’s natural for our emotions to go up and down, but our faith and salvation in
Christ remains solid and sure, because it was founded upon His Word and promises, not our
