Does guilt or depression keep you from believing God can really forgive you, and
above all, love you? Do you feel life would be less of a burden if you could go back
in time and live your life over again?
This is a very helpless and sad feeling indeed! Multitudes of people in this world struggle with it
today! We have all sinned, and we have many regrets in our lives that we can’t go back and fix. We
even continue to sin though we know it's wrong! You may say in your heart, "Why should God love
me? How can I give my life to Christ, when I know just how wretched I am inside? I'll never be good
enough for Jesus to want me!" Or, “I know I’m a Christian, but I don’t feel Jesus can really forgive
me for what I have done.”
Guilt, shame and regret. All of which can hold us back from living a joyous life in Christ!
The truth of it is... We are wretched, we are sinners. We don't deserve God's love. We were all
born in sin, inherited from our parents, who also were born in sin. Mankind inherited sin from Adam
and Eve, our very first parents, who sinned against God in the Garden of Eden. We all deserve
severe punishment and death, but Jesus didn't!
Over 2000 years ago, God the Father sent Jesus, His only begotten Son, to die for our sins. He
was born of a virgin, and became flesh just as we are, but was without sin because He is God. He
lived a perfect life on earth, obeyed all the commandments on our behalf, and then was crucified on
a cross for all our sins. He rose from the grave on the third day, ascended into Heaven, and now
sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
God the Father sent Jesus His Son, to die on that cross for our sins. God punished Him on our
behalf. If we died on a cross for our sins, we would deserve it, and that wouldn't satisfy our Holy
and just God. Those who believe and trust in Jesus will be forgiven. Their sins, no matter how many
or how big, will be completely washed clean, white as snow, by the innocent blood Jesus Christ
shed on the cross for us. We are clothed with the Righteousness of Christ, if we trust in Him. 100%
completely forgiven for all our sins, no matter how great or small. We can't earn it, we could never
do enough! It is a gift from God! He gets all the credit, all the Glory, all the Honor!
Jesus loves you just as you are! Right now, today! With all your faults, bad habits, thoughts, past
sins, future sins. Down to the very inner core of your being. He wants to live within you, despite all
your faults and imperfections. He wants to bless you, and help you with every aspect of your life,
and then receive you into His Kingdom, into His arms, to live with Him for eternity!
Have you ever thought about how much Jesus loves you? Do you know what He has done for you,
so that you could be free of sin, guilt and shame...forever? When He came to earth and died for
your sins, the pain and suffering He endured, a person can't even begin to imagine. He was
whipped, beaten, spit upon, mocked, laughed at, pierced and was even separated from His Father
in Heaven while on the cross. The Bible tells us that He was beaten beyond recognition. God hates
sin, and will punish it severely! Praise God He sent Jesus to take our place on that cross! The Lamb
without blemish, the perfect sacrifice pleasing to God! Jesus took away all our guilt and shame. It
was nailed to the cross!! There it will remain and be remembered no more!!
God loved us before we were even born. He knew we couldn't obey all His commandments on our
own, so He provided a plan of salvation for mankind that would be acceptable payment for our sins.
Can you imagine now, the arms of Jesus open wide, yearning for you to come to Him. To receive
His Mercy and Grace, just as you are!
Have you ever asked Jesus into your heart? Would you like to receive Jesus into your heart
right now? He will give you eternal life, forgiveness of sins, healing, peace, and you will never be
alone again, ever!
It's very simple really, but it will be the best thing you could ever do in your life, and your life to
come! Go to a quiet place. Get down on your knees, bow your head before God, and pray...
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know I am a sinner. I know I have done wrong in my life and I am sorry for that. I need your
love and forgiveness in my life. I believe and trust in you. I believe your death on the cross
will wash away all my sins. I don't understand everything about you now, but I turn my life
over to you. All that I am, and all that I am not. The door is open to my heart and soul, come
and live within me. Amen
Pray this prayer with a sincere heart. Pour out your heart to Jesus, let Him know all the hurts you
have inside. Cast all your anxiety on Him for He cares for you! Talk with Him throughout the day.
Your life will never be the same again. Your emotions may be deeply moved, or they may not. It's
not about feelings, it's about Jesus and what He did for you on the cross. He will direct your paths.
You will want to grow in your faith. Get a hold of a Bible and begin reading in the New Testament, a
little at a time will do. Don't worry if you don't understand at first what you are reading. The Holy
Spirit who dwells within you will help you understand as time moves on. Learn about Jesus, fill your
mind with positive things, eternal things, truths from God's Word. When guilt and shame (Satin)
come knocking at your door, tell them to hit the road, you no longer have time for them. It's time to
take hold of your thoughts and get happy! Rejoice!! Jesus will be with you every step of the way! He
promised He would never leave or forsake you. Jesus came to die for our sins so we could live life
to the fullest, and be completely free of guilt, shame and depression forever!!
Many will ask, "How do I love Jesus back?"
When we hear the Gospel message (Gospel means, "Good News") about Jesus Christ, and believe
in Him, and trust in Him as our Savior from sin and eternal death, we receive the gift of Eternal Life
and The Holy Spirit. Faith in God comes by hearing the Gospel Message. This is not of your good
works or deeds, or anything you can take credit for....but of God's mercy and grace unto you.
Without the gift of the Holy Spirit, a person cannot believe on his own. The things of God are
foolishness to him or her. God gets all the credit for you believing in Him!
God is three persons in ONE. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Not three
God's, One. God had no beginning. He always was, and always will be.
When a person receives the gift of the Holy Spirit, Jesus dwells within that person. It doesn't mean
that person is perfect, it means he or she is forgiven, and are now "Born Again." Born again simply
means, Born of God's Spirit. Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God
unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
Jesus promised He would never leave you, or forsake you. He lives within you 24-7, count on it,
He never breaks His promises. In knowing that, we as Christians should live our lives to God. We
are not like the rest of the world, who don't know Christ, and live only to themselves. Our life's
change because we now have hope and a future. We are God's Children, who have received the
inheritance of God's Kingdom, that He has prepared for us before the foundations of the world! The
way we live our lives now, is a way of showing God how much we love Him!
Our desire now is to please God, to love Him back, because He first loved us! We clean up our foul
language, we control our anger, we forgive those who hurt us, we show kindness and compassion
to those in need. We put away the things that we once indulged in that were not pleasing to God.
We desire the things in life now that have true value and meaning.
The change in our life comes from the work of the Holy Spirit. We can't repent of our sins
without His help. The work of the Holy Spirit is to reveal Jesus to us, and to help us live our life in a
way more pleasing to God. As time goes by, we become more like Jesus. The good works we
produce in our lives are fruits of our faith and evidence of the Holy Spirit at work within us. We
don't receive the Holy Spirit by doing good works. It is a gift from God that He will never take back
from us. We are His, and no one, or nothing, can take us from Him. We don't hold on to God, He
holds on to us! We are his sheep, He is the Good Shepherd. Jesus said, My sheep listen to my
voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one
can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one
can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one." John 10:27-30
When we sin, we grieve the Holy Spirit. We don't lose our salvation by any means. God doesn't
leave us, but we hurt our relationship with Him. To show our love for God, Jesus said, If you love
me, you will obey what I command. John 14:15 We obey Him, because we love Him, not because
we are trying to earn our way to heaven. Jesus already took care of that on the cross! Every day
we can confess our sins to Him, and He is faithful everyday, to forgive them.
You may ask, "Now that I am a Child of God, will He keep a record of all my sins?" No. He
promised to forget them! Here is what God tells is about that....
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far
as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has
compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows
how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:11-14
"As far as the East is from the West, He has removed our sins from us." On earth, North and South
meet, East and West never meet. Praise God!
A person may ask, "Why do I still struggle with sin? I gave my life to Christ, but I still do the
things I don't want to do?" We must remember that we as Christians still have the sinful nature within
us, that which we inherited from Adam and Eve. We will have that sinful nature until the day we die
and go to heaven. But until that time, our sinful nature and the Spirit of God who dwells within us, will
be at war with one another. The Spirit is strong but the flesh is weak. So often we sin because our
flesh is weak! As we grow in our Christian faith, we sin less and confess more. We will never be
perfect, that's why we need a Savior! Here is what the Apostle Paul said in Romans 7:21-25
When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but
I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and
making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am!
Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God — through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Do you see now, how you can love Jesus back? A Savior who knows all your weaknesses and
faults, your deepest most inner thoughts and secrets, and yet still loves you! Creator of Heaven and
Earth, Almighty God, Maker of all mankind.....Who loves you so much, He came down from His
Heavenly Throne, humbled Himself and became a man like you and I, allowed sinful and lost people
to nail Him on a cross to shed His Innocent blood, so that poor sinful and corrupt people like you
and I, could have eternal life and peace with God!
Imagine if you were there, when Jesus was hanging on that horrible cross, and your eyes met
with one another. You imagine He sees guilt, but His eyes show love. You imagine He sees shame,
but His eyes show compassion. You imagine He sees sin, but His eyes show forgiveness. Your
eyes see His innocent and precious blood running down the cross. You then know in your heart,
like never before, just how much Jesus really does love you!
There is so much to learn about the Christian Faith. I have shared with you many important and life
saving truths about Jesus Christ and the forgiveness of sins. My prayer is that you will join a good
Bible believing Church, (if you haven’t already) and learn all you can about Jesus. Continue to grow
in your faith. Worship the Lord with your brothers and sisters in Christ, who also, desperately, need
a Savior from sin, guilt, depression and shame!
May God truly bless you with great joy, peace and new life in His Son, Jesus Christ!

A Little "Heaven Humor"
A man dies and St. Peter meets him at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter says, "Here's how it works. You need 100 points
to make it into heaven. You tell me all the good things you've done, and I give you a certain number of points for each
item, depending on how good it was.
"Okay," the man says, "I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her, even in my heart."
"That's wonderful," says St.Peter, "that's worth three points!"
"Three points?" he says. "Well, I attended church all my life and supported its ministry with my tithe and service."
"Terrific!" says St. Peter; "Thats certainly worth a point."
"One point!?!!" The man gulps. "I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for homeless veterans."
"Fantastic, that's good for two more points," he says.
"Two points!?!! "Exasperated, the man cries. "At this rate the only way I'll get into heaven is by the grace of God."
"Bingo, 100 points!" Says St. Peter. "Come on in!"
