In early autumn, in response to the shortening days and declining intensity of sunlight, leaves begin
the process that leads up to their fall. God’s imprint is on all of creation, and the seasons that He
has created are no exception. Fall is a time of year that produces great beauty, but this beauty soon
fades away and falls to the ground. But we are not to become discouraged by this process, for it is
what lives beneath the surface that counts. One day our life here on earth will end, but unlike the
leaves, we as Christians will one day be raised to a life and beauty that will never fade..
