While getting down low and zooming my lens to wide angle, I could not help but notice how the trunks of
the Aspen trees grew gracefully upward to create a beautiful canopy in the blue sky. Later as I viewed the
resulting photo, I began to ponder the similarities we as Christians have with the Aspen tree. We too start
out as individual trunks, but as we grow in Christ, we become closer to one another and eventually
intertwine to create a canopy that makes up the church.  I also observed that the leaves of the Aspen are
most spectacular when backlit by the sun. Is this not the case with us also? We too become most beautiful
when we are back lit from above by means of the love and grace that can only come through our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ.
